On the 11th of September, 2023, the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, in conjunction with the Student Council of KMC Manipal, organized a talk for the fourth year students and interns. The guest speaker, Dr. Vipin Zamvar, is a renowned Cardiothoracic Surgeon working at the University of Edinburgh, and serves as an adjunct faculty for the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at KMC Manipal. Dr. Zamvar previously served as the President of the World Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeions, and is currently the acting Secretary General. He has been the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery since 2006. His achievements include the invention of the Zamvar pericardial fold
Dr. Zamvar began his address by sharing various anecdotes from his many years working as a medical practitioner. He then proceeded to talk to the students about the various pathways by which a medical graduate can secure a job in the UK, and shared some tips for the same.
The talk was followed by a Q&A session with the attendees.
