On the 6th of January, 2024, KMC Manipal hosted a captivating talk delivered by professor Pritam Deb from Tezpur university, Assam. The event was a collaboration between Incandescent club, Innovation Centre, MAHE and Directorate of Research, MAHE. The chief guest, Prof. Pritam Deb, is a published professor in leading journals and a MHRD chair professor on IPR and adjunct faculty at Manipal School of Life Sciences. The event was held at the Idea Cafe in Marena.
The distinguished speaker was introduced by Utkarsh Sinha. In professor Deb’s talk he enlightened the audience on the importance of innovation and the need for it. He also gave his insights on patent rights, intellectual property and its direct correlation between the growth of the country and its development. He further spoke about its importance in the medical field and how doctors can use patents to protect their research and work. He highlighted his talk with efficient examples and delivered an insightful talk to his audience.
A vote of thanks was delivered by Shambhavi Joshi and Aaditya Anand of the Incandescent club. The chief guest was also felicitated by Dr. Zubair and Dr. Sucheta of the Innovation Centre and with this a creative and insightful evening came to an end.
