The College Day of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, was a grand event held in the beautifully decorated gardens of KMC Greens on the 17th of May, 2022, graced by the presence of the renowned chief guest, Dr. Anil K. Bhat. Students from all semesters attended the event dressed to the nines in ethnic wear, making for a remarkable sight under the golden rays of the setting sun.
The programme started off with the dignitaries being invited on stage to light the ceremonial lamp and offer a floral tribute to the founder, Dr. T.M.A. Pai.
The Dean, Dr. Sharath Kumar Rao, then gave a hearty welcome to all and presented the annual report, and the former student council president, Mr. Goutham Bonny, soon shared his review of the year as well.
Outstanding individuals from both the faculty as well as students ranging from PG to UG courses were lauded for their excellent performance in the previous academic year, their awards being presented to them by the the Chief Guest, the Dean, the Vice Chancellor and the Pro Vice Chancellor.
Winners of Silhouettes, the intercollegiate fest of AFMC, Pune, were also congratulated on stage for their terrific victory.
Dr. Sufiyan Ibhrahim and Dr. Himanshu were awarded the title of Best Outgoing Student of the Year for the years 2015 and 2016 respectively, and it was a truly touching moment for all when their parents were invited on stage alongside them.
The Presidential Address was given by the Pro Chancellor followed by the Vote of Thanks by Dr. Krishnananda Prabhu.
The true highlight of the event, however, was the cultural program performed by the teachers and students. Teachers from all departments walked the runway in style donning a variety of outfits to the loud hoots and wild cheers of the students.
The sumptuous dinner that followed proved to be the icing on the cake, and everyone left the College Day as happy and content as can be, with lovely memories that would last a lifetime.
