St John’s Autumn Muse 2024

Autumn Muse at St. John’s Bangalore, was a memorable celebration of talent, teamwork, and fun. From cultural performances to intense sports showdowns, KMC, Manipal students shone brightly, bringing home numerous medals and trophies.

The journey to Bangalore was as memorable as the fest itself. Although the train ride was long and tiring, it was filled with fun moments of us singing songs, bonding, and creating a vibrant atmosphere that made the trip fly by. Upon arriving, the expansive and green campus greeted everyone with its peaceful yet energetic vibe, adding to the excitement.

Here’s a closer look at the highlights of the fest.

CULTURAL EVENTS:

Our cultural teams made an unforgettable impact, dominating several categories and captivating the audience in the process:

• Western Non-Thematic Dance: Phoenix set the stage on fire, securing first place with their high-energy performance.

• Eastern Thematic Group Dance: Cygnus brought grace and emotion, finishing in third place with their stunning choreography.

• Western Group Vocals: Cadenza harmonized their way to third place , delivering a soulful performance.

• Eastern Solo Vocals: Surabhi and Avishi captivated the audience, winning second and third places respectively.

• Eastern Duet Vocals: The duets of Aryaman and Surabhi and Avishi and Ayushi impressed the judges, taking second and third places.

• Theatre: Aaghaz delivered a moving theatrical piece, earning second place.

• Fashion Show: It was a spectacle in itself, with models donning intricate, crazy outfits paired with equally elaborate props, wowing the audience and earning Purple Haze their well-deserved victory in first place.

• Streetplay: Our streetplay team Aaghaz’s, raw energy and passion earned them a second-place finish.

A particularly touching moment came when Saatwik Sharma, our Cultural Secretary, who won the Best Director award. He was overcome with emotion and even shed tears, touched by the recognition of his efforts and hard work. Another delightfully special moment was Prakhar Mohak winning the Best Actor award.

The auditorium was a hub of excitement, with cheers echoing after every performance, making each act feel like a moment of triumph.

SPORTS EVENTS:

Our athletes made the college proud with remarkable performances across various sporting categories:

• Chess:

Team A claimed silver and Team B followed with bronze in the team events.

In the Individual Rapid Tournament, Swaraj earned second place .

A clean sweep in the Blitz Tournament, with our players taking first, second, and third places.

• Basketball (Women): The women’s basketball team brought home silver, finishing in second place after a hard-fought tournament.

• Volleyball (Women): Our volleyball team showcased determination , clinching third place.

LITERARY AND EDITORIAL BOARD (LIT-ED) EVENTS:

The intellectual side of the fest saw our students thriving in avariety of competitions:

• Face Painting: Vaishnavi and Aarushi took third place with their artistic creations.

• Art Relay: Ryan and Diya earned second place, showcasing teamwork and creativity.

• General Quiz: Utkarsh and Arham secured third place in a tough quiz contest.

• Debate: Arundhati Kulshreshtha and Arsalaan delivered a powerhouse performance to win first place in the debate competition .

• Friends Quiz: Akshat Sinha and Melvin Mathew took home first place, with Shivom and Ayeshani finishing third.

• Heart to Hand (Online Event): Mariyah Haji secured the third place.

• A Words Worth (Online Event): Mariyah Haji secured the first place.

• Film Making (Online Event): The team of Harshit Sehgal, Asim Osmani, Aniket Vikram Singh, Afaq Ahmad, Sumer Kamboj, Lakshya Pratap Monga, Anuraj Singh, Samyak Jain, Pratham Mishra, Aruj Atray, Vishnukant Singh, Satyam Mishra, Ishaan Kumar Khetan, Prakhar Mohak, Parth Vij secured third place, presenting a creative short film that wowed the audience.

From the breathtaking performances in the cultural events to the fierce competitions in sports and intellectual challenges, our students truly made their mark. The camaraderie, fun, and memories forged during this fest will undoubtedly be cherished for years to come!
