The Finance Committee of KMC Manipal hosted its innovative event “Shark Tank” on 25 October. 19 people were split into 9 teams and assigned mundane objects such as broom, mirror, soap, toothpaste. Each team had to pitch their object; the catch: each object was paired with an unrelated word which had to feature in the pitch. Some examples include broom with witch, mirror with perspective and toothpaste with ayurvedic.
The event saw the participants come up with a plethora of creative pitches, combining ingenious comic skits and puns among many other elements to convince ‘sharks’ to invest in their products. They skillfully combatted cross questioning and put their powers of persuasion to test. First place was awarded to Visheshjeet, Swarnim and Abhyudaya, second to Sthuthi and Gouri, and third to Aditya Raj and Purusharth.
Overall, the event was a success and left participants eagerly awaiting the next one.
