DAY 1
The evening of October 1st marks the official beginning of Artemis, KMC Manipal’s Gaming Club’s, flagship event— Prima. Running across 6 days, Prima kick starts its first day with 1v1 FIFA, set up in 3 rooms over the second floor of Interact Halls. FIFA 24 has drawn 50+ players across its two days of matches, for both 1v1 and 2v2, crossing previous year’s numbers by leaps. It is an intercollegiate gaming fest of the highest regard.
Artemis offers enticing coupons to all offline players, including 15% discount coupons for 7th Heaven, their primary sponsor. The game consisted of 6 groups of 4 teams each, with the top 2 of each group moving forward towards the knockouts and then finally 4 teams towards the finals. Cash prizes included

DAY 2
The 2nd day kicked off with a Valorant tournament, which was conducted online. 20 teams each of 5 members battled it out with enthusiasm and determination. Team Kaizens emerged as first place winners, Team Ramu as second place, and team BKT Riders as third place.
Alongside this, informal games were conducted in the first floor of interact. Participants had a lot of fun trying their hand at classics such as Mortal Combat, Clash Royale, and Just Dance Now.
Creative game stalls were also set up in the ground floor. Participants enjoyed playing whisper challenge, mini bowling and subway surfers, while munching on snacks from the food stalls.
To top it all off, there was a screening of the award winning film Joker in collaboration with the Film Crew.
Day 2 was packed with energy and left participants excitedly waiting for what the rest of Prima would bring.
DAY 3
Day 3 of Prima by Artemis, hosted both the FIFA 2v2 event and the CODM competition, attracting a total of 32 participants for the 2v2 matches. Interestingly, very few of these players had competed in the singles events, leading to unexpected outcomes. Many top performers from the singles tournament struggled to clear the group stages in the 2v2 format, highlighting the significance of team synergy and strategy.

Notably, two KMC players, Jonathan and Aaron, reached the semifinals, showcasing their strong teamwork.
The Call of duty mobile tournament saw participation from 15 teams, though two teams withdrew due to unavailability, leaving 13 teams to compete. These teams were divided into four groups, where each group engaged in a round-robin format.
The top teams from each group advanced to the next round, which consisted of another round-robin tournament. The final standings were as follows:

🥈2nd place – Demon Slayers
🥉3rd place – CO²

DAY 4
KMC Manipal hosted an exciting BGMI tournament on the 4th of October, bringing together gaming enthusiasts from across the campus and the country. The event saw fierce competition as teams battled it out in intense matches, showcasing their skills in strategy and teamwork. Held at the interact from 6pm onwards, the tournament attracted a large crowd. The tournament not only provided entertainment, but also fostered a sense of camaraderie among the participants.
With gaming culture thriving at KMC, this event was a huge success and set the stage for more gaming competitions in the future.
After an exciting tournament, Team Alpha emerged as the winners.
DAY 5 AND 6
On the 5th and 6th of October 2024, Artemis held its flagship event GRANNY In Real Life, a physical event where players got to experience a horror house while solving riddles and puzzles to escape “GRANNY” (the eliminator) and complete the level. It consisted of 3 levels. In the first level, participants had to crack the passcode on an iPad with a riddle or task provided and play a particular game to the highest score possible. Points were provided with comparative rankings.
Level 2 challenged the participants to crack the code and achieve a set score on the game provided. Along with the game, participants also had to search the hall for bonus clues. This was the elimination level where Granny entered the room and tried to eliminate teams. Participants had to stay silent and hide from Granny to be safe. Out of 14 teams, only 6 qualified to the final level, where each team got 3 lives, and they had to complete the escape room, successfully evading the Granny in order to win.

The event also hosted 2 food stalls from “7th Avenue Waffles” & “Nandini Cafe” with their signature dishes.
It was an exciting and fun event by Artemis that received enthusiastic participation from a lot of people.
