Vedam, KMC’s undergraduate academic fest, was held from 15 to 18 September 2024. Organised by Tempus Pretioso, Cutting Edge, Justitia, Student Research Forum, Incandescent and IQMU, it offered a plethora of learning opportunities and engaging activities for participants and those conducting it alike.
The fest was kicked off by an inspiring speech by keynote speaker Dr. Vivek Pandey. Over the course of 4 days, participants presented their research to esteemed panels of judges, took part in medical hackathons, and embarked on a treasure hunt where their medical knowledge held the key. From simulations of realistic medical emergencies, to workshops on autopsy etiquette and quizzes with an impressive prize pool, it was a truly immersive experience.
The fest was made possible by the sponsor AMBOSS, a medical education resource which includes articles, videos, and question banks adapted to the student’s specific learning style. Some special features include targeted study plans, a library where one can browse by category, discipline and system, and a dashboard. The question banks create custom sessions with varying difficulty levels, based on the student’s performance. Images accompany the articles and chrome extensions provide pop-up explanations for terms and concepts on any website.Used by 2 million medical professionals over the world, AMBOSS’ aim is to distil the overload of information so more time can be spent mastering it..
Overall, Vedam was an unparalleled and unforgettable experience for those in pursuit of knowledge. For day wise details of how Vedam 2024 unfolded, see below:
