RESEARCH PRESENTATION

On 15 September 2024, Research Presentation was conducted by the Student Research Forum
of KMC Manipal. The participants showcased their innovative approaches to tackling today’s problems in the medical field, and gave the audience insight into their research through either oral or poster
presentations.The esteemed panel of judges comprised of Dr. Manjula Anil Kunder, an Associate Professor of Community Medicine, Dr. Chythra Rao, a member of Indian Medical Association, and Dr.
Shankar Bakkannavar, Faculty head of SRF and Editor in Chief of the Medicolegal Society.
Covering topics from effects of BPA on reproductive system, to how medical adherence affects
COPD recovery, the presentations tickled curiosity and opened minds to new ideas and ways of
thinking. The expert feedback given by the panel left both the participants and audience with a
lot to take away from the event. The judges were felicitated with potted plants to mark the end of the event.

IQMU PRELIMS

The IQMU Prelims 2 took place at the Microbiology Lab at KMC Manipal on the 15th of September. Participants from various colleges competed against each other in a tough face off. The questions tingled the minds of contestants ranging from Anatomy, Pathology, Microbiology and Forensics. The quiz was designed specifically to test the medical observational skills more than the actual theoretical knowledge making it harder to crack. The ring of the buzzer and the shuffling of feet were resounding as the participants battled through the questions. The quiz master, Dr. Vikram Palimar- HOD of forensic medicine is an expert quizzer and planned out the questions meticulously to challenge the participants’ medical solving skills. 24 teams emerged as the winners after a tough competition and moved on to the next round of IQMU quiz.

Realm of Remedies

On 15th September 2024, Tempus Pretioso, the Emergency Medicine club of KMC Manipal, organised an exciting and innovative event called Realm of Remedies. Following the high fantasy theme of Vedam 2024 the event offered the participants an interesting way to learn essential emergency skills while engaging in their favourite fandoms and fictional characters. The event was held in interact and each floor was divided into various fantasy realms like PokΓ©mon, Harry Potter, Narnia and Game of Thrones. Participants had to embark on a quest in each realm and save various characters by applying their emergency medicine skills and quick thinking. This adrenaline-filled workshop had 58 participants who were divided into teams of two.
