On July 23, 2023, KMC Mangalore held their first intercollegiate festival organized by Phacocache, the Media club of KMC Mangalore.
From art to photography to writing, Elayne had a variety of events meant to keep the participants engaged throughout the day.
Along with these, there were other exciting things for the participants to enjoy, like the photo booth, tarot card reading, and games like tambola.
The day began with the opening ceremony, wherein the students introduced Elayne, giving a gist of all the events, and thanking everyone present for making it a success. After this, there were words by the faculty congratulating Phacocache for organizing everything.
The writing events included Modern Twist, a fun new event that integrated an old theme with a modern one for the participants to write stories on. Along with that, there was Creative Storytelling as well, which gave the participants three random images to build stories from.
The photography events included Spot Photography, where photographers were given a theme and had to go around Mangalore clicking pictures showcasing that theme. The Treasure Hunt was a delight for all the competitive people looking to display their speed and talent in clicking photos for the given prompts in order to reach the final. Then there was Product Advertisement, for all those who felt that they had what it took to be able to sell a product. Lastly, there was Twisty Clicks, an event for the creative minds, mixing art and photography into one dystopian piece.
The last event of the day was Murder Mystery, where the crime-solving enthusiasts got their chance to play detective by investigating the crime scene and talking to suspects to solve a murder.
Elayne ended with the closing ceremony, where the prizes for all the events were given out.
KMC Manipal bagged prizes for several events:
- Meghna Neog & Simran Singh Bhadauriya shared the 1st prize for Twisty Clicks with Ishaa Gupta & Abhimanyu Singh.
- Anwesha Nandy & Pavan Krishnan got the 2nd prize for Twisty Clicks.
- Jyotika Mittal and Sanit Kumar both shared the 1st prize for their beautiful photographs in Spot Photography.
- Pranav Venugopal & Arham Parvez won the 1st prize in Product Advertisement, wowing everyone with their short ad on the Elayne badge.
