On 1st March 2025, the Student Research Forum of KMC, Manipal conducted Research 101: Research Ethics. Held at Interact from 4:30 pm, this workshop guided aspiring researchers in this integral yet often overlooked facet of conducting research. Research ethics become crucial to apply to an Institute’s Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC).
Dr. Ranjitha Shetty from KMC, a member of the IEC of the college, with careful detail coupled with her adeptness on the subject, educated the young researchers about how to apply to IEC, the documents and the steps of the process required. Executed with meticulous detail, the organisers Rashmi Thakur, Ashish Aryan, Niharika V and Vaishnavee Tiwari from SRF, brought this resourceful workshop to the students, bridging yet another gap between enthusiastic students and their research goals, an evening truly well spent.
